I work as a creative consultant and project leader, partnering with organizations when complexity demands structure—when brands extend across platforms and environments, products become systems, or fragmented efforts need to be unified for real use by real humans. Brand, interface, object, and space are not separate outputs. They’re components of one coherent structure. As form changes, the work remains consistent—held together by decisions that scale without losing intent. The goal is always coherence. Systems built on choices that count. Only what matters. Every project begins with a search for clarity. Before artistic expression expression. Before novelty. Before aesthetics. If the work does not reduce cognitive load, it’s unfinished.&nbsp;I design rules before outcomes, logic before language, and containers before content because strong systems produce good work repeatedly, and while a great deal of exploration, wrong turns and breaking things is a major part of the process, it’s what vets a system.&nbsp;Every decision must scale—from icon to interface, interface to environment, environment to memory. If it doesn’t scale, it doesn’t belong.&nbsp; I’ve led teams and shaped brand systems in-house and at agencies, developing identities, digital products, interfaces, motion, and environments for companies including Nike, Google, Meta, Magic Leap, Apple Music, The New York Times, Adidas, and Under Armour.&nbsp; I’ve been the Creative Director of HUSH, established the Immersive offering at BUCK, VP of Brand and Platform during the transformation at Magic Leap, and headed up experience design at Collins. I’m often brought in before anything exists—when defining how a brand should behave across copy, UX, architecture, and design matters more than deciding how it looks, because it’s always going to look good. During that time, myself and my team were tasked with a complete brand transormation. The company was going through a major shift from a nominal consumer AR platform represented by rainbows and creatures, to a grown-up, B2B product that really works. It’s still a product I believe in today. I led the UX and UI overhaul of the AR platform, as well as the strategic brand redesign and content, elevating its perception, globally. Every touchpoint from the logo and voice of the brand, to built environments and digital products were part of the holistic system–driven by design principles that are rooted in authenticiy, intuition, and function. These principles remain today. The content before you is simply a small overview of a case study in development. This was a massive overhaul, and a massive undertaking where our internal teams worked closely with incredible vendors like Relay, First Things, Antfood, and Santos Dilone to bring us to life. Especially when you’re growing an already legendary product by adding talent and capabilities, all while stepping into new territories. You don’t want to lose who you are, but you want to let people know you’ve grown. Everyone loves&nbsp;BUCK. When I was in the process of joining, I told their leadership that I saw them as so much more than an animation or motion graphics company. How can people touch it, and play with it? Answer: Start with a circle. My team and I love physical interfaces, and this simple input was a great excuse to explore how physical, graphic design, and code can collide on a small scale. It also raised a lot of interesting questions when we began thinking about creating content. Adding the ability to scrub forwards and backwards changes a lot about traditional frame based animation. For instance, how do we deal with easing in an animation when the wheel has its own momentum? Will an animation still feel responsive played back at a variable frame rate? What about code sketches? From there we started putting together some parameters for a functional prototype. Our encoder pulses 600 times per revolution, and with our gearing it gave us accuracy down to 0.133 of a degree. Due to the need to see a screen through the middle, we weren’t able to rotate on a traditional axle. After a bit of searching, a lazy susan bearing was the perfect prototype solution. Some connective plastic pieces were 3D printed and we were in business. We started with three different code sketches to explore user interactions and see what felt right while using your hands to control animations and physics. We created a massive, internally illuminated scoreboard topper that spins and flashes when the team scores. HUSH was invited to be part of an all-star creative team, tasked with creating an experience for the legendary architect's first building in NYC. Inspired by the branding and strategy developed by Mother, NY, we created interactive elements, an animated intro film, UX, and spatial design. We designed the physical and interactive portions of the space; from the tunnel, lighting, immersive theater, a custom iPad application, an interactive touch tale, animated content and its choreography with the room's lights and the building model. Users stand on either end of the table, while the sensors read their pulse, sending light across the table in real time.
